Report on Brock Lesnar leaving WWE Smackdown following news of Vince McMahon’s retirement

As previously noted, Vince McMahon has announced his retirement from WWE.

Brock Lesnar is scheduled to challenge Roman Reigns for the unified WWE Universal title at the 2022 Summerslam PLE. Lesnar was advertised to appear on the July 22nd 2022 edition of WWE Smackdown but reportedly won’t be on the show. According to Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline.com, Lesnar left the building once news broke that McMahon was retiring from WWE. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com tweeted that he told Lesnar was “pissed off” and Alvarez tweeted the following…

“Brock’s line was some derivative of, ‘If he’s gone, I’m gone.’ There is a replacement for SummerSlam in place for Brock, but obviously they’re trying to get him to come back.”

Advertisements for Lesnar being part of Smackdown were pulled from WWE.com on Friday evening.

Paige commented on the news…

“Is this is true, Michael Cole better bring that up on commentary saying he let the WWE Universe down.”
