Possible reason why the AEW: Fight Forever video game’s release date hasn’t been announced
In November of 2022, a trailer was released for the new AEW: Fight Forever console video game but a “coming soon” message was displayed and a release date for the game was not confirmed.
Matt Black of WrestleZone.com noted that according to a source, there has been a delay in announcing the release date for Fight Forever due to issues regarding the game’s rating. The belief is that the game’s amount of blood and gore led to issues with AEW and THQ Nordic securing a “teen” rating. Black wrote the following…
“Those close to the game are confident with where things are now, as the game has once again been resubmitted to the ESRB recently after multiple back-and-forths on it. As for what the specific issues were with the ESRB, the source didn’t detail what needed to be addressed. Despite that, they did say that everyone is feeling pretty confident that the issues are resolved, but they won’t know for sure until it officially comes back.”
With WWE 2K23 set to be released in March, Black added that Fight Forever might not officially be released until the spring around the time of AEW’s Double or Nothing PPV.
