Pete Dunne debuts on WWE Smackdown with a new name
During the March 11th 2022 edition of WWE Smackdown, Pete Dunne made his WWE Smackdown debut during a backstage segment with Sheamus and Ridge Holland. Dunne appeared to be aligned with the duo and was given the name “Butch” by Sheamus. Butch as at ringside for Sheamus and Holland’s match against The New Day. Butch’s interference led to Sheamus and Holland picking up the victory.
The name “Butch” could be a reference to The Bushwackers tag team (Luke and Butch) as Ridge Holland’s real first name is Luke.
It was rumored for the past few months that Dunne would be transitioning to the WWE main roster from NXT.
