News regarding WWE Smackdown potentially moving back to a two-hour format in 2025

The January 3rd 2025 edition of WWE Smackdown was the launch of the brand’s three-hour format. In February, it was reported by WrestleVotes Radio that people within WWE “strongly dislike the three-hour SmackDown format.”

In regards to Smackdown potentially moving back to a two-hour format in 2025, Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com noted the following…

“There has been talk that Smackdown goes back to two hours on 6/6, but that is not a hard date. It was expected at the end of May would be the move back. Company sources say the date isn’t etched in stone but they expected it will be finalized this week.”
