News regarding WWE doing more international PLEs in 2024 and beyond
Earlier this week, WWE announced the first ever Bash in Berlin premium live event for 2024 in Berlin, Germany.
WWE is reportedly discussing other international cities to host PLEs in 2024 and beyond. Fightful.com noted that Paris, France is being considered to host the 2024 Backlash PLE. According to Fightful, Backlash is listed internally for Paris but the deal hasn’t been finalized yet.
Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com noted the following regarding Paris…
“We were told regarding that show that WWE is in negotiations with a lot of different city governments around the world to get significant money for PPV events going forward with Paris being one of those cities.”
It’s being said that WWE is also looking to get paid significant money from cities in the United States. Jason Latimer, public relations director for Visit St. Pete-Clearwater, revealed to stpetecatalyst.com that $500,000 of its tourist development tax funding was used in a successful bid to host the 2024 Royal Rumble PLE in St. Petersburg, FL.
