News regarding the success of AEW/NJPW’s 2023 Forbidden Door PPV event
Following the 2023 AEW/NJPW Forbidden Door PPV event, AEW President Tony Khan noted that estimated buys for the show were up from both the 2022 Forbidden Door PPV and AEW Double or Nothing 2023. Forbidden Door in 2022 drew between 125,000-127,000 buys while Double or Nothing 2023 drew around 140,000 buys.
Via Twitter, Khan stated that Forbidden Door is officially the biggest live gate in AEW history at about $1.2 million (USD) and it is one of the top three biggest live gates for wrestling in Canada. AEW’s live gate record will be broken with the All In event at Wembley Stadium.
Prior to the show, @WrestleTix reported that 13,519 tickets were distributed and 14,826 was the announced attendance during the show.
