News regarding the future of NXT with Triple H taking control of creative in WWE
As previously noted, WWE announced on Monday that Triple H “will assume all responsibilities related to WWE’s creative, in addition to his regular duties.”
In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com noted that the WWE NXT brand could end up being reverted back somewhat to Triple H (Paul Levesque)’s vision of it. Meltzer wrote the following…
“The belief was that while they will continue to heavily recruit top tier athletes, a process Levesque has been a key player in over the past year, that they would be more open to use more experienced wrestling talent as well, and that going forward the door would be more open to better wrestlers who weren’t as big or as good looking as McMahon wanted on the roster.”
While changes could be made to NXT, the “black and gold” era is not expected to be the format of WWE’s main roster shows in the future. The idea is that WWE’s main roster shows will continue catering to a wider audience than the NXT shows as Meltzer believes that Triple H will still be “heavily influenced by the world McMahon created.”
