News regarding possible changes to WWE’s PLE schedule in 2023

It was reported earlier this week that WWE has canceled the 2023 Day 1 PLE. Atlanta’s has since removed the event page for Day 1 and now lists a WWE Holiday Tour Supershow at the arena on Tuesday, December 27th. Dave Meltzer of noted that WWE’s deal with Peacock calls for 12 PLE shows per year and if Day 1 doesn’t happen, WWE will have to add another show around that time or later in 2023.

Meltzer wrote the following about possible changes to WWE’s PLE schedule in 2023…

“There are a lot of PPV changes rumored for 2023 which include the idea of doing one PPV per year from the U.K. to go along with the two from Saudi Arabia. The other change seems to be less gimmick named PPV shows.”

According to Meltzer, one of the rumored changes would be having an event that features both a King of the Ring and Queen’s Crown winner being crowned. WWE last held a King of the Ring PPV in 2002.
