News regarding Johnny Gargano’s WWE status following the 2023 Stand and Deliver PLE

Johnny Gargano has not wrestled since the 2023 WWE Stand and Deliver PLE. According to Fightful Select, Gargano re-aggravated the shoulder injury that kept him out of action for most of January. Fightful noted the following regarding the situation…

“We’re told that the shoulder injury got worse after his Royal Rumble return, and by the time of the NXT match with Grayson Waller he was severely hampered and using one arm. The hope from the company is that he can repair the injury with physical therapy as opposed to surgery.”

Fightful also shot down internet speculation that Vince McMahon was the reason for Gargano’s absence from WWE television and it was brought up how McMahon communicated with Gargano about signing a new contract in late 2021.
