News regarding Jeff Jarrett participating in Ric Flair’s “last match” while working for WWE

It was announced on Monday night that Ric Flair will team up with his son-in-law Andrade El Idolo to take on Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal at the “Ric Flair’s Last Match” PPV event on Sunday, July 31st in Nashville, TN.

Jarrett was recently brought back to WWE as SVP of Live Events and during Wrestling Observer Radio, F4WOnline.com’s Dave Meltzer discussed Jeff appearing at Flair’s show…

“With Jeff, the thing with Jeff is that Jeff doesn’t have a talent contract. So legally, even though he’s actually a vice president of the company… He can wrestle this match. I mean, I know a lot of people think that because Conrad [Thompson] in the past had booked WWE guys, including Ric, to do major things at his conventions and then WWE pulled them, that that is going to happen here, but that’s not going to happen. This has all been worked out.” (quote courtesy of RingsideNews.com)
