News regarding Jack Perry’s debut with NJPW at Battle in the Valley

After being off AEW television for months due to a suspension, Jack Perry resurfaced at Saturday night’s NJPW Battle in the Valley event. After attacking Shota Umino, Perry took out his “AEW contract” and ripped it up.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com noted the following about Perry’s NJPW debut…

“So, when Jack Perry was unmasked, the security didn’t know about this angle, so that was kind of interesting. They thought it was a fan hitting the ring after shooting Shota, but they were quickly told it wasn’t. Then, he unmasked, and it was Jack Perry. And at first, people didn’t really. I think it took like a few seconds because he looks a little different. Not that much. But people kind of didn’t know who he was. And then all of a sudden it’s like, ‘oh my God, it’s Jungle Boy,’ you know?” (quote courtesy of WrestlingNews.co)

After the event, Umino commented on Perry and here is what he said…

“Boy, you got this all wrong, a stupid punk kid. You think tearing up your contract and slide right into Japan? Jungle Boy, anytime, anywhere. I don’t care if it’s in AEW or a ring in Japan. Anytime, anywhere I beat you, bitch.”
