More details regarding Max Dupri being pulled from Maximum Male Models faction

It was previously reported that Maxxine Dupri (formerly Sofia Cromwell in NXT) will be replacing Max Dupri (Shaun Ricker/LA Knight/Eli Drake) as the leader of the Maximum Male Models faction.

While Vince McMahon had reportedly made the decision for Ricker to be removed from the group, Fightful Select noted that he was going to be on the July 22nd 2022 edition of Smackdown but was pulled at the last minute. People associated with the segment were apparently not given any “concrete” information regarding Ricker’s status with WWE. It’s believed that Ricker has supporters in the company and with McMahon gone, he will possibly get another opportunity.

Fightful also noted the following…

“McMahon had taken a particular interest in the Maximum Male Models angle, as it was all his idea. Mace and Mansoor were said to have been on board with the angle but Eli Drake had some reservations about things.”

It was also said that McMahon did not want Ricker to sound like his LA Knight while performing as Dupri.
