More backstage details regarding confrontation between Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch

As previously noted, Charlotte Flair was reportedly involved in a backstage confrontation with Becky Lynch after the October 22nd 2021 edition of Smackdown went off the air. Click here for the initial details of what happened.

According to Fightful Select, the Smackdown script for the “title swap” segment called for Becky to grab the Smackdown women’s title away from Charlotte and brag about being “Becky Two Belts” before Sonya Deville would order her to hand the RAW title over to Charlotte. In the actual segment on television, the title was dropped to the mat and Charlotte picked it up.

Fightful also had additional details of what happened backstage…

“After the segment concluded, there was a shouting match backstage, and we’re told that Charlotte had stated that dropping the title was accidental. Fightful has also been told that Charlotte Flair was asked to leave the venue before Becky Lynch’s dark match concluded as to avoid further confrontation and let things cool off.”

Alex McCarthy of TalkSport.com noted that Charlotte’s friendship with Becky has been “strained” for some time and wrote that “people close to the situation say Flair didn’t appreciate being called ‘plastic’ during a promo a couple of years ago and it’s been tense since.”

Vince McMahon was said to be unhappy that Charlotte left the gorilla position without talking to him. McCarthy also reported that Charlotte had made a pitch to drop the RAW women’s title to Bianca Belair clean on RAW.
