Latest Summerslam 2021 rumors regarding the main event and possible date change
Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast provided some information regarding the upcoming WWE Summerslam 2021 PPV.
Here is what Zarian noted regarding the main event…
“I know the main event, I think it’s a pretty big main event, especially by today’s WWE standards. It’s a match that we haven’t seen happen too often. I consider this a pretty big main event.”
Zarian didn’t name the participants but did provide a hint…
“What you can’t see you can’t believe.” (quotes courtesy of HeelByNature.com)
This would seemingly be a reference to John Cena who is rumored to be appearing on the July 16th edition of Smackdown.
In regards to the date of Summerslam, it was initially believed that the show would take place on Sunday, August 22nd. However, Zarian noted that the event is apparently going to take place on Saturday, August 21st instead and Twitter account @WrestleVotes backed up the report.
According to a very reliable source SummerSlam will take place on Saturday 8/21 in Vegas.

Yes guys, I am aware there’s a Manny Pacquiao fight in Las Vegas the same night. I can only report on what I’m told. Saturday night is happening tho.

Update: 8/21 is currently “provisional” according to a source. Pacquiao fight wasn’t official until 5/21, no updates since on document being circulated. 8/22 & Sat 8/7 shown as “holds”. WWE’s preference is SAT. However being honest, I’m not entirely sure where it stand as of now.
