Latest details regarding Johnny Gargano’s WWE contract expiring

Johnny Gargano’s WWE contract expires today and Fightful Select reports that he turned down multiple offers to stay. It’s being said that the split between WWE and Gargano is “incredibly amicable” and the door is open for him to return. With Gargano becoming a free agent, he will be able to negotiate which any promotion of his choosing.

According to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com, those close to Gargano say that he hasn’t made up his mind about his future and it has been a difficult decision for him.

Meltzer also noted the following…

“He was given a strong offer to stay, but the reality is he would be in NXT, with the new direction, he would not be the focus, but he probably would be kept somewhat strong with the idea of having him mean something to teach and put over the talent they are looking for on the main roster.”

While Gargano could theoretically appear on next Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite, it has been indicated that he will take some time off from wrestling as his wife Candice LeRae is due to give birth in February.
