Former WWE wrestler Sanga arrested for alleged sexual exploitation

According to hindustantimes.com, former WWE wrestler Sanga (Saurav Gurjar) was arrested at Mumbai Airport in connection with a sexual exploitation case filed by a 29-year-old woman. He was brought to Hyderabad by Gachibowli Police and remanded to 14 days in judicial custody.

The woman filed a complaint on August 15th, alleging that she and Sanga began a relationship after connecting on Instagram in 2021. She claimed that Sanga told her he was already married but repeatedly promised that they would eventually settle down together. She also alleged that he convinced her to leave her job in the United States to start a business with him in India.

The following was stated in the complaint…

“During the course of our relationship, the accused disclosed that he was already married. He repeatedly promised to give me wife-like rights and eventually settle down with me. He used to block me on the phone/social media and disappear without any prior information. I suffered mental harassment, emotional distress and financial loss, including losing my job after I left my employment in the US to stay with him.”

Gachibowli Police registered a case under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which pertains to sexual intercourse through deceptive means, and issued a Look Out Circular for Sanga.

He was detained by immigration officials at Mumbai Airport on September 17th after arriving from the Middle East. Police then brought him to Hyderabad, where he was produced before a magistrate and remanded to judicial custody for 14 days.

The investigation remains ongoing, and the allegations against Sanga have not been established in court.
