Dustin Rhodes asks people to “please stop the constant attacking and vitriol” towards AEW
Over the past several years, wrestlers have publicly addressed tribalism between WWE and AEW fans. In a response to online criticism of AEW’s product, veteran wrestler Dustin Rhodes wrote the following message via Twitter/X…
“Here’s a thought…….Just enjoy Wrestling. Please stop the constant attacking and vitriol towards us. We have the most passionate wrestlers in the world. We do this for you. #IAmWithAEW @AEW and I love and watch ALL wrestling.”
Here were a few of the most-liked responses…
@AIRGold_: “Dustin, I enjoy wrestling and am a big fan of AEW, as are many others. As a passionate supporter, I believe it’s fair for fans to critique a product they watch and pour money in to every month. I truly appreciate you and everyone else who puts their body on the line for our entertainment. However, from a creative standpoint, there are certain aspects we feel could be improved. Discussing these issues shouldn’t be seen as an attack on the wrestlers, as that’s certainly not the intention.”
@OneTrueMav: “I’ve seen people who are diehard fans say it doesn’t feel the same. There’s only so much “lets enjoy it” you can do before you lose those people too man. I get blocking out hate, but definitely don’t block out people who know AEW is capable of being better.”
@MrDtt001: “The AEW roster having this ‘shut up and consume’ mindset is so odd. The company was built off listening to the fans in a time where WWE was doing the opposite. Now if you criticize anything you get tweets like this. Just screams of insecurity.”
