Details on WWE NXT talent possibly being given trial runs and evaluations moving forward
As previously noted, WWE released 18 wrestlers from the main roster and NXT on November 4th 2021.
Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com noted the following regarding how WWE will be handling NXT talent moving forward…
“There is also talk that of those being signed by WWE starting in the new year, that they will, except the top prospects, be signed to 60-day trial contracts to see the rate they improve at. If they don’t show improvement, they won’t be signed to full-time deals.”
Bryan Alvarez also said the following during his podcast on F4WOnline.com…
“I don’t know exactly what this entails but in general, the new idea is that they are going to be heavily evaluating everybody every 6 months from this point forward. I think the idea is we no longer want people to spend 7 years in developmental. So it’s gonna be like every 6 months they are going to evaluate you and if you’re not getting better, you’re out of there.
Everything has changed with this new NXT. They know what they want. It’s a certain type of person who works a certain way and talks a certain way and is trained from scratch and they get better quick and they move up or they’re out of there. This is the new way that it’s gonna work.” (quote courtesy of WrestlingNews.co)
