Corey Graves issues public statement about his WWE status following move back to the NXT brand

As part of WWE’s changes to the commentary teams in 2025, Corey Graves was moved from Smackdown back to the NXT brand. Graves previously did announcing for NXT until he was called up to the main roster in 2016.

In a post via Twitter/X, Graves commented on his WWE status…

“Imagine chasing your dream. Then being TOLD (not deciding) that you’re no longer physically able to pursue your dream. Then you dedicate your life to something ‘dream adjacent’ and being pretty fucking awesome at it. And then, when it’s time to enjoy the fruits of your labor, being told you’re not famous enough for your own job. Just in case you’ve wondered where I’ve been.”

Graves followed up his post with another message…

“I’ve got a lot to say. Don’t miss #WWENXT tonight on @TheCW. TONIGHT. 🎤 🔥”

Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com noted the following in regards to Graves’ remarks…

“PWInsider.com can confirm there had been rumblings over the last several weeks that Graves wasn’t happy with his positioning within the company, something his social media posting would certainly seem to confirm.”
