Concern about WWE Crown Jewel 2022 due to situation between Saudi Arabia and Iran

On Tuesday afternoon, The Wall Street Journal reported that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has shared intelligence with the United States about a warning of an imminent attack from Iran on targets in the Kingdom. The warning is said to be putting the U.S. military and others in the Middle East on an “elevated alert level.”

WWE is holding the 2022 Crown Jewel PLE this Saturday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. With the warning being issued, there is concern about people in the company traveling to the country. In regards to the status of the show, F4WOnline.com’s Dave Meltzer noted the following…

“The best term regarding Saudi Arabia would be monitoring the situation. All plans are for the show at this moment but you can’t control the real world.”

Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com also stated the following…

“In speaking to several at WWE, we are told that the show is set to still go forward and that the company already has security protocols and emergency contingencies in place for any issues. They are hopeful all will be fine.”
