Breaking news: Sheamus reportedly leaving WWE after being with the company for almost twenty years

Over the weekend, Sheamus changed his X profile to “S. Farrelly,” which is his real name. Fightful.com confirmed that Sheamus is set to leave WWE after his contract expires. It was noted that he “rejected a restructured extension.”

Sheamus officially signed a developmental contract with WWE in 2007 after a series of successful tryout matches in late 2006 and early 2007. He debuted in WWE’s developmental territory, Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW), on October 2nd 2007.

Sheamus defeated John Cena at TLC 2009 to win his first WWE Championship, just under six months after his main roster debut. Sheamus held every major title in WWE except for the Intercontinental Championship.

Sheamus has not wrestled since the November 17th 2025 edition of RAW from Madison Square Garden. In December, it was reported that he underwent shoulder surgery.
