Breaking news: FTR’s Cash Wheeler arrested on assault charge

It is being reported by orlandosentinel.com that AEW star Daniel Wheeler aka Cash Wheeler was arrested Friday morning by the Orlando Police Department. Wheeler has been charged with one count of aggravated assault with a firearm and was booked in Circuit Court according to county records.

AEW issued a statement to the Sentinel which stated the following…

“AEW has been made aware of the charge, and we are closely monitoring the situation. (Wheeler) is fully cooperating with local authorities.”

Wheeler is one half of the AEW tag team champions with Dax Harwood as FTR and a match against The Young Bucks was announced earlier this month for the 2023 All In PPV at Wembley Stadium.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com provided additional details regarding the situation. Johnson noted that a warrant for Wheeler’s arrest was filed on July 28th and a hearing is slated for this afternoon. Johnson wrote the following…

“Wheeler filed a plead of not guilty to the the charge of aggravated assault with a firearm via his attorney with the circuit court of Orange County, Florida on 8/3. The charge is considered a third degree felony in the State of Florida. So, whatever incident led to the arrest, it happened several weeks ago and was not something that took place overnight.”

Hanlon Law states that the maximum penalty for the charge in Florida is five years in prison or five years probation, plus a $5000 fine. It was also stated that first-time offenders can face jail time for the offense.
