Breaking news: Former WWE and WCW star Virgil has reportedly passed away
Mike Jones, known to wrestling fans Virgil and Vincent, has reportedly passed away. Pittsburgh referee Mark Charles III broke the news via a Facebook post…
“My dear friends, it is with great sorrow that I bring news from the Jones family of the passing of our beloved Michael Jones, whom we know and loved as Virgil, Vincent, Soul Train Jones and more. Virgil passed peacefully at the hospital this morning and I ask that you pray for him and for his family. May his memory be eternal!”
Jones had been dealing with numerous health issues in recent years including two strokes and a diagnosis of dementia in 2022.
Jones was known as Virgil in WWE. For years, Virgil was the bodyguard of “The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase but eventually broke off on his own as a babyface. Virgil would go on to defeat DiBiase for the Million Dollar Title at Summerslam in 1991.

Jones later went to WCW and became a member of the New World Order as Vincent. He was introduced as “VINCE” which was a rib on Vince McMahon since Dusty Rhdoes’ real name was Virgil Runnels.
Jones also made an appearance for AEW in 2019 as part of a Chris Jericho vignette.
