Behind-the-scenes staff member retiring after years of working for WCW, WWE, and AEW

Before the June 7th 2023 edition of AEW Dynamite went live, several people including President Tony Khan paid tribute to longtime costume designer Sandra Gray. Gray, who worked for WCW and WWE before joining AEW, will be retiring from her profession.

Dustin Rhodes kicked off the ceremony and noted that Gray had been producing his gear since 1996. Rhodes praised Gray and got a “thank you Sandra” chant started. Several other wrestlers commented on Gray including Ricky Starks, Chris Jericho, Wardlow, Nyla Rose, Dasha, and Powerhouse Hobbs.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com tweeted about Gray’s career…

“Before Sable was Sable, she was credited with recruiting Sandra Gray to WCW to make Johnny B Badd’s gear. She ended up working there until WCW was bought, then was with WWE until 2015. Brandi Rhodes was a big part of bringing her over to AEW, and she was seen on Total Divas and Sammy’s Vlogs often.”
