Backstage news regarding NXT stars including Harland being released from WWE

As previously noted, WWE released multiple NXT stars including Harland and Dexter Lumis. In regards to Harland’s release, coaches and officials noted to Fightful Select that they felt like he wasn’t showing enough progress in the ring for their liking. Harland addressed his release by writing “PARKER BOUDREAUX…is back😈” on Twitter…

According to Fightful, Dakota Kai had indicated to WWE that she wasn’t planning to renew her contract and she was said to have seen the release coming. The site also noted the following about the releases…

“There was one NXT official that contacted us and expressed frustration that several angles, acts and stories were affected with little to no notice or preparation.”

“One talent who was cut today was told that the company was making ‘budget cuts’ and that the door was open for the two sides to work together in the future.”
