Backstage news regarding Gunther being “suspended indefinitely” from WWE RAW

As seen during the April 21st 2025 edition of WWE RAW, there was a confrontation between Gunther and announcer Michael Cole that turned physical. Pat McAfee attempted to help Cole but was choked out. RAW General Manager Adam Pearce later announced that Gunther was “suspended indefinitely.”

According to Cory of PW Nexus, the suspension storyline was done because Gunther requested time off. PWInsider.com noted that Gunther was spotted in London several times over the last week. It was added that “the belief among those we spoke to in the company is his ‘suspension’ will be 2-3 weeks.”

WWE Fans have been speculating that the Gunther storyline with McAfee could lead to Gunther vs. Bill Goldberg in Goldberg’s retirement match.
