Backstage news regarding Alexa Bliss’ return to WWE at the 2025 Royal Rumble PLE
As seen during the 2025 WWE Royal Rumble PLE, Alexa Bliss had her first match in two years. Leading up to the event, it was reported that WWE canceled plans to bring back Alexa on the January 13th 2025 edition of RAW due to her and the company failing to reach a financial agreement on a new contract.
According to PWInsider.com, Alexa was brought into Lucas Oil Stadium at around 3:00 PM Eastern Time on Saturday following a last-minute agreement with WWE that was made over the past few days or even the day before. Bliss had reportedly flown from Florida to Indianapolis on the day of the event.
It was noted that none of the female participants in the women’s Rumble knew of her involvement until rumors started circulating that she was part of the match. Initially, Alexa was said to have been kept out of sight from everyone else.
WWE has already designed merchandise for Alexa’s return and she is expected to be on the RAW brand moving forward.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com confirmed that Alexa’s return came together “very late” and her spot in the Rumble was initially slotted for Shotzi. Sapp added that “those we spoke to were both happy to see Alexa back, and felt bad that Shotzi didn’t get in.”
