AEW stars reportedly vouched for Colt Cabana when his contract wasn’t going to be renewed

Colt Cabana has not competed in AEW since a March 4th 2022 match on Dark but he did compete at the ROH Supercard of Honor event on April 1st. According to Fightful Select, the initial belief was that Cabana’s contract was not going to be renewed and his “contentious relationship” with CM Punk was rumored to be the reason.

With there being speculation about Cabana’s future with AEW, Fightful reported the following about the situation…

“We’re told by numerous AEW talent that they caught wind several months ago that there was word that Colt Cabana’s deal with the company was not being renewed. Cabana is an extremely popular person backstage both from his work in AEW and outside, and we’ve heard that numerous talent voiced their displeasure and went to bat for Cabana.”

It hasn’t been confirmed but there is a belief that Cabana will continue to work with the ROH brand in the future.
