AEW star Rey Fenix says “no one stays in a place where they received inhumane treatment”

It was reported in August of 2024 that sources in AEW expected The Lucha Brothers (Penta and Rey Fenix) to leave the company when their contracts expired with the belief being that they would join WWE. However, it was later stated that AEW President Tony Khan decided to “tack on injury time” to Fenix’s contract.

Fenix responded to a fan post about his status with AEW. Twitter/X user @AIRGold_ had posted the following message…

“AEW not using Rey Fenix is fuckin WRONG!😡. WWE sells out almost every arena they go to. They’re doing the best business they ever have. WTH does Tony Khan think will happen if the Lucha Bros go there? WWE isn’t being hurt by this AT ALL! The only one being affected is Fenix, and he’s the most innocent party in all of this.”

Fenix responded by writing, “I will have my chance to speak the truth.” Fenix also wrote, “No one stays in a place where they received inhumane treatment.”

Fenix also announced that he will be available for a special Meet & Greet on Friday, December 20th with HOG Wrestling. Fenix wrote the following message…
