AEW President Tony Khan completes the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge after being nominated by Sting
After being nominated by Sting, AEW President Tony Khan has completed the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge in support of Rebel. The video footage, which was posted on the Jacksonville Jaguars’ official Twitter/X account, included the following comments from Khan…
“I’m here to talk about something that affects 1 in every 300 people. It affects a lot of people close to us, and it’s a terrible disease, ALS. And it hits very close to home in AEW and in the NFL. And for Team Gleason, Steve Gleason, a great NFL veteran and somebody part of the fight against ALS.
You can donate and work with AEW at aewtogether.org/rebelheart. Rebel Heart is an episode of Wednesday Night Dynamite coming up in Athens, Georgia on September 9th. And the fight against ALS is very close and important to us in AEW because it affects somebody that we really care about in AEW, somebody that’s been with us for many years who’s been diagnosed with ALS, and that is Tenea Brooks, known to the fans and everyone in AEW as Rebel. And we’re having Wednesday Night Dynamite Rebel Heart September 9th in Athens, Georgia. The tickets are on sale now. You can get your tickets to support the fight against ALS at this show in Athens, Georgia at aewtix.com.”
Approximately 1 in 300 people will develop ALS in their lifetime. In support of @RebelTanea and all those affected, @TonyKhan accepts the #IceBucketChallenge & nominates Coach Coen, James Gladstone, and Tony Boselli 🧊@AEWTogether | @AEW pic.twitter.com/9MPFzNoquv
