A backstage confrontation between WWE stars Jade Cargill and Shayna Baszler allegedly took place in 2024

As seen during the 2025 WWE Elimination Chamber PLE, Jade Cargill made her return to television by attacking Naomi.

Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com noted in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter that prior to Jade’s injury angle, there was a backstage confrontation involving Jade and Shayna Baszler. The time frame for the incident was said to have been when Baszler and Zoey Stark wrestled against Jade and Bianca Belair in June of 2024.

Meltzer wrote the following about what allegedly happened…

“It’s been confirmed by a half dozen people that it happened but nobody went into details past Cargill had rubbed enough people in the Raw women’s division the wrong way and Baszler was wanting to fight her until management found out and calmed the situation down.

I don’t know what in particular happened other than it wasn’t just one thing and the belief is that some of this stemmed from inside the ring in those matches and some didn’t. Although one woman star said they believed the tension within the Smackdown side was worse than the Raw side.”
