Full WWE SmackDown spoilers for the July 3rd 2026 edition including what’s next for Sami Zayn

Following the June 29th 2026 edition of WWE RAW in Atlantic City, NJ, the July 3rd edition of SmackDown was taped due to the 4th of July holiday weekend. Here are the ongoing spoiler results courtesy of John Clark…

* Sami Zayn kicked off SmackDown criticizing the fans for turning their back on him. Cody Rhodes made his way to the ring and congratulated Sami before starting to leave, but Sami stopped him. Before they could continue the conversation, Jey Uso made his way out. Jey hugged Sami but told him he needed that title for the family. Cody made fun of him for it. Zayn then told both of them to get to the back of the line and to stay away from him. Adam Pearce came out since Nick Aldis was suspended and told Zayn he would defend the title on Raw in Chicago.

* Backstage, Charlotte Flair said Jade got what she deserved and would keep getting it until she got the hint. Alexa Bliss appeared and wondered what had gotten into Charlotte. Tiffany Stratton then appeared with Chelsea Green, and Charlotte thanked Tiffany for the help in Saudi.

* A six-woman tag team match followed with Charlotte, Tiffany, and Chelsea taking on Jade, B-Fab, and Michin. Chelsea got the hot tag and a massive pop. She got the upper hand on B-Fab before B-Fab sneaked a tag to Jade. Jade finished off Chelsea and pinned her to win the match for her team.

* Backstage, Zayn argued with Pearce about having to defend on Raw. Pearce said he didn’t care. Zayn then approached Johnny Gargano and said he couldn’t have done it without Johnny. He gave Candice his phone so they could take a selfie together.

* The AAA Cruiserweight Championship match was next as Rey Fenix defended against El Hijo del Vikingo. Rey Fenix retained in what was easily the best match of the night so far. “This is awesome” chants broke out from the crowd.

* Backstage, Giulia called out Blake Monroe. Kiana James appeared, which allowed Blake to attack Giulia from behind. When Kiana wasn’t paying attention, Blake also attacked her.

* Jacob Fatu, Big Jim, and Royce Keys were backstage talking about the whereabouts of Solo Sikoa. Royce told Fatu that if anyone was his family, it was him. Keys and Big Jim then had a staredown.

* Trick Williams came out with Lil Yachty to a huge pop. Before they could say anything, Carmelo Hayes made his way to the ring. Melo said he was obviously next in line for a United States Championship match. He said Trick turned the title into an accessory that’s not prestigious. Yachty defended Trick and said he wasn’t the same guy he was in NXT. They agreed to a non-title match next Friday (7/10). Trick pimp slapped Melo to end the segment.

* Backstage, Danhausen was with Matt Cardona. He said he got a match with JD at Saturday Night’s Main Event in Madison Square Garden. The Miz and Kit Wilson were hooked up to a machine and started seizing after Cardona pushed a button.

* Brie Bella w/ Paige vs. Lainey Reid w/ Fatal Influence next. Laney Reid pins Brie Bella in the middle of the ring 1-2-3 while Paige and Fatal Influence fight on the outside of the ring.

* Cody Rhodes prepping for his match runs into Finn Balor who wishes him luck. When Cody walks away the Tongas attack Balor from behind.

* Cody Rhodes vs. Jey Uso where the winner will face Sami Zayn on WWE RAW next week. Jey tweaked his ankle early in the match doing an outside dive. Consulted briefly with the referee and is continuing on with a slight limp. Rhodes hits a spear and a cross rhodes but Jey kicks out. Jey hit a spear and Cody kicked out. Fast paced match with them getting from spot to spot pretty quickly. Cody hits one more cross rhodes and gets the victory over Jey.
