Update on Mercedes Mone’s status with AEW amid absence since the end of 2025

Mercedes Mone hasn’t wrestled on AEW television since losing the TBS championship to Willow Nightingale at the end of 2025. During her hiatus from television, Mercedes lost her independent championships.

In an update on Mercedes’ status with AEW, Fightful.com was told by sources that she remains under contract with the company and that there are plans for her to return to AEW programming “relatively soon.” While no specific timetable was provided, sources indicated that she is expected to have a significant impact at the top of the card.

Regarding the possibility of Mercedes being Alex Windsor’s mystery opponent in the Owen Hart Tournament, Fightful reported that someone was practicing some of her signature moves ahead of the June 3rd edition of Dynamite. However, the report cautioned that running knees are commonly used by many wrestlers. It was also noted that Windsor rehearsed with a placeholder standing in for Will Ospreay during practice sessions.
