Breaking news: Mercedes Mone makes her return to AEW television
Mercedes Mone was off AEW television for several months after losing the TBS championship to Willow Nightingale at the end of 2025. During her hiatus, Mercedes lost her independent titles.
On the June 3rd 2026 edition of AEW Dynamite, Mercedes made her surprise return as Alex Windsor’s mystery opponent in the Owen Hart tournament. Mercedes, who debuted a new theme song, picked up the victory to advance in the tournament.
Hours before the show, Fightful.com reported that someone was practicing some of Mercedes’ signature moves. It was also noted that Windsor rehearsed with Will Ospreay as a placeholder.
