Rey Mysterio announces traditional five-on-five match for WWE Survivor Series 2026

WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio made an appearance on Stephanie McMahon’s podcast this week. During the discussion, Rey made an announcement for WWE Survivor Series 2026…

“The overall vision for AAA and how it has evolved to where it is now shows how much of an impact lucha libre has made on wrestling worldwide. I had a couple of conversations with Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis, and we’re going to put together something very special: a classic 5-on-5 Survivor Series match at Survivor Series, with Team USA taking on Team Mexico.”

Stephanie asked Rey if he would be competing on one of the teams. Rey responded that he couldn’t reveal anything just yet, as plans were still being finalized.
