Booker T says Cody Rhodes and Matt Cardona didn’t fit in AEW because they are “entertainment wrestlers”
While speaking on his podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Booker T commented on AEW’s style of professional wrestling being different from WWE. Here is what Booker T had to say…
“The young guys in AEW, the guys who created it, look at wrestling differently than we do. They look at wrestling differently than guys like myself, CM Punk, The Undertaker, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, and Kurt Angle. They look at it totally differently.
That’s why certain guys have gone to AEW and just didn’t fit in. You look at Matt Cardona, who was a free agent and went to AEW, and boom, just didn’t fit in. Cody Rhodes. Same thing, because those guys are entertainment wrestlers. They’re not just about going out there and doing matches.
I look at guys like The Hurt Syndicate. They’ve come in hot, and then cooled off a little bit. It’s just like that in a company like that because it seems they’re looking to change wrestling and the way people watch it.
And look, there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s your prerogative, just like watching certain shows or whatever. It’s your flavor, it’s your cup of tea.”
