Umaga’s son Zilla Fatu officially debuts with the WWE NXT brand

Zilla Fatu, the son of late WWE star Umaga, officially debuted with the WWE NXT brand on August 11th 2026. Fatu made his NXT debut by interrupting the main event between Cruz Montana and Grayson Waller, which was set to determine the No. 1 contender for Tony D’Angelo’s NXT Championship.

Fatu attacked both competitors, causing a disqualification, and delivered splashes to Montana and Waller before turning his attention to D’Angelo at ringside. Fatu then declared that “there was a new sheriff in town.” Vic Joseph went out of his way to identify Fatu by his real wrestling name on commentary, suggesting WWE plans to have him use Zilla Fatu in NXT.

It had been reported that Fatu was expected to join the WWE Performance Center after completing his independent wrestling commitments.
