Jacques Rougeau reportedly “threw a tantrum backstage” at AEW Redemption

A Rougeau Family ceremony took place before the 2026 AEW Redemption PPV in Montreal, featuring a promo from veteran wrestlers Jacques and Raymond Rougeau.

According to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com, the ceremony was originally supposed to include a video package, but the project ran into several issues. Jacques reportedly told AEW that he would handle the video himself, but the footage he provided was too long and included material and music that AEW did not have the rights to use. The video also contained AI-generated elements that AEW did not want to include.

By the time the issues were discovered, it was already the day of the show and there wasn’t enough time to produce a replacement. As a result, the Rougeau Family ceremony went ahead without the planned video package.

“Multiple sources said Jacques was throwing a tantrum backstage over that. He was told by one AEW official to calm down or they’d have to kick him out.”
