Report: There was “little to no internal discussion” in regards to Jack Perry potentially joining WWE

During the July 8th 2026 edition of AEW Dynamite, it was announced that Jack Perry has re-signed with AEW. In a post via Twitter/X, Fightful stated the following about Perry…

“WWE had little to no internal discussion regarding the possibility of pursuing Jack Perry in the case that he entered free agency, Wrestle Votes Radio on Fightful Select has learned. The prevailing feeling was that he didn’t fit in WWE’s current landscape.”

Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com noted the following in regards to Perry…

“That was best for all concerned. Unless WWE made an outrageous offer, which they wouldn’t likely do, WWE is the wrong place for him and AEW is the right place. Perry’s signing was actually announced on Dynamite showing him putting the pen to paper and pushing it as a major signing, and they’ve never done anything like that when somebody renews their contract before.”
