Chavo Guerrero on tribalism in wrestling: “I hate when fans criticize somebody just because they don’t like the brand”

While appearing on the Gabby AF podcast, former WWE star Chavo Guerrero stated the following in regards to tribalism in wrestling…

“I hate when fans criticize somebody just because they don’t like the brand. If it’s a damn good match, it’s a damn good match. I don’t care if it happened in TNA, New Japan, AAA, or on an independent show. If it’s a good match, it’s a good match.”

“There’s people who view someone like John Cena as only a WWE guy. Then fans of other promotions don’t like him, and I’m like, why? Just because he never wrestled in AEW or TNA or wherever? If he puts on a good match, he puts on a good match.”

“There’s a reason why people really love Rey Mysterio. He’s wrestled everywhere. He’s gone to different places and come from different places, so he’s built up a fanbase all over the world. People love him not just for his matches, but because of the journey he’s had throughout his career. But then you have someone like MJF, who’s really an AEW guy. So if you’re a WWE fan, don’t hate on him just because of where he works. He’s pretty damn good.”
