Brian Cage makes his return to AEW television after a lengthy absence

In April of 2025, it was reported that AEW star Brian Cage had torn his quadriceps at an independent show. In an Instagram post, Cage revealed that he decided to have knee surgery while recovering from his quad injury.

Cage made his return to AEW television during the May 13th 2026 edition of Dynamite by answering TNT Champion Kevin Knight’s open challenge. Despite a competitive effort from Cage, Knight ended up winning the match with the UFO Splash.
