Rumored creative direction for Sami Zayn at WWE WrestleMania 42

After failing to win the WWE Title from Drew McIntyre at the 2026 Royal Rumble PLE, Sami Zayn has been involved in a storyline with Trick Williams. BodySlam.net noted the following in regards to when Zayn vs. Williams might take place…

“According to sources, WWE has discussed the idea of Trick Williams vs Sami Zayn at WrestleMania 42. Williams and Zayn have had several interactions with each other since Williams got called up. Outside of a house show match, Williams and Zayn have only been in the ring once together on TV in an Undisputed WWE Championship number one contendership fatal four-way.”

Furthermore, there is speculation that Zayn could be turning heel as Ibou stated the following during the Self Made Sessions podcast…

“There are people in WWE now who believe—because I asked about the whole thing, someone who said that WWE is thinking about turning Trick face. I asked WWE about this, and they told me that doing a double turn with Trick and Sami is being seriously considered.”
