Swerve Strickland asked about Chris Jericho’s future in the wrestling business

In recent months, there have been rumors about Chris Jericho potentially returning to WWE. In early January of 2026, it was reported that he is expected to sign a new contract with WWE.

While speaking to Adam’s Apple, Swerve Strickland was asked about Jericho’s future in the wrestling business. Here was his response…

“I actually texted Chris just congratulating him on whatever his decision is going to be. So whatever it’s going to be, I’m supporting him no matter what.”

As of February 8th 2026, Jericho continues to be listed on AEW’s official roster page. There are no definitive confirmations that his contract with AEW has expired despite reports claiming he may become a free agent at the start of 2026.
