Report: People in WWE “really want” Powerhouse Hobbs when his AEW contract expires

In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com noted that there are those within WWE who are “very high” on Powerhouse Hobbs. Meltzer expanded on this during Wrestling Observer Radio, stating:

“There’s more to the Hobbs situation than I wrote. I don’t know when his AEW contract expires, but I do know that people in WWE really want him. He’ll definitely get offers. There are people in WWE who are very behind him.”

Hobbs, who is 34 years old, is currently part of Samoa Joe’s Opps faction in AEW. Hobbs and Hook lost to “Hangman” Adam Page and Swerve Strickland in a Lights Out match on the January 7th 2026 edition of AEW Dynamite.
