Tony Khan comments on Adam Cole following Cole’s appearance at AEW Worlds End pre-show
As seen during the 2025 AEW All In: Texas PPV event, Adam Cole announced that he had to relinquish the TNT title due to a health setback. An emotional Cole stated that he might not be able to wrestle again and thanked the fans for their support.
During the 2025 AEW Worlds End Zero Hour pre-show, Cole made a special video appearance to discuss the Continental Classic semi-finals. While speaking to media after the event, AEW President Tony Khan was asked about Cole’s status…
“Well, there’s certainly no pressure. I was just really happy to hear from Adam Cole, and I thought the fans would be so happy to see him. Obviously, Adam Cole has been a great champion in AEW, and it was important for him to step away and prioritize his health and well-being.
We love him. He’s a great star here, and absolutely—like we said when he spoke earlier—we want Adam Cole to be involved in AEW. I don’t have any health updates other than to say you can see he’s doing well, and he’s excited about AEW.
This has been such a great Continental Classic. Again, 33 fantastic matches, capped off with three great matches tonight. Some of the best matches in the history of the tournament happened in 2025, and some of the most exciting scenarios as well. What a great thing it was to have the Christmas Collision feature six matches with high stakes in all six for the tournament.
So with Adam Cole, there’s no particular update other than to say you can see he’s doing well. Since we’d last heard from him, when he had to vacate the TNT Championship at AEW All In Texas, it was a sad moment. It was a hard moment for a lot of the fans and for a lot of us in AEW.
So we were so happy to hear from him tonight, to end the year at AEW World’s End on a high note. Excellent host.”
