Diamond Dallas Page addresses the “bullsh*t” stalker angle from when he joined WWE in 2001
While speaking with Ariel Helwani, Diamond Dallas Page reflected on the stalker angle involving The Undertaker’s then-wife, Sara, from when he joined WWE in 2001. Here’s what DDP had to say…
“They told me they wanted me to stalk Taker’s wife. [And you’re married at the time?] Yes. And Vince is there, Shane’s there, and Kimberly’s there. [And how’d she feel about it?] Well, if I was in WCW, if they told me that bullsh*t angle, I’d go, ‘F*ck you.’ Seriously? I’m going to be stalking somebody else’s wife? There was no reason for me to think that they were going to not even give me an opportunity.”
“Let me tell you what positive thing came out of that. And this is how I look at it all the way around. Would I have loved to have a real run with Taker later? I would love that. Would I have loved to have a real round with People’s Champ versus People’s Champ? Absolutely. But the thing that it taught me was you can’t be afraid to walk away from the table when you have something that you know they want. What I should have done, when he said that, I should have just done my inner voice, which would have laughed out loud and said, ‘Vince, are you looking at my wife? Seriously? And of all people, I’m going to after Taker’s wife? Like, no!'”
DDP looks back on his controversial angle of being the ‘stalker’ of Undertaker's wife:
