Ridge Holland reportedly took a significant pay cut during his final year with WWE
WWE star Ridge Holland, who recently underwent surgery for a foot injury, announced on Monday that WWE will not be renewing his contract with the company.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com noted that according to sources, Holland was not paid beyond his WWE deal for the TNA bookings that led to his injury. At this time, Holland won’t have guaranteed income while he recovers from his surgery over the next several months although he did reveal that WWE will cover his rehab expenses. Fightful also reported that Holland signed a one-year extension in November of 2024 that was around 200,000 dollars less than what he had previously been making.
While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline.com stated the following about the situation…
“With Ridge Holland, I know people have been saying he was making main roster money, he wasn’t. When they sent him back to NXT and he was there for years, I think, a couple of years at least, he was making NXT money. He was not making main roster money anymore. So it’s not like he’s making some giant main roster contract. He was making NXT money and they won’t even pay that during the time that he’s out with this injury.” (quote courtesy of WrestlingNews.co)
