AEW President Tony Khan is scheduled to make an “important announcement” on the September 24th 2025 edition of AEW Dynamite. In regards to what Khan might say, Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com noted the following…

“Most seem to think it’s women’s tag team titles and a tournament. I do know he made women’s tag title belts some time back and said injuries delayed starting the tournament.”

In July of 2025, Khan commented on women’s tag team titles…

“Having multiple situations with some of these injuries is part of why it has not made sense with the state of the roster to do that, but it is something I am interested in doing. I have the belts. I’ve made the belts. They exist, but I will put them into play when we are able to put the very best full roster forward to have great action with competition for all the championships, including new championships.”
