How Drew McIntyre reacted to Brock Lesnar’s return at WWE SummerSlam 2025
As seen during the 2025 WWE SummerSlam Sunday PLE, Brock Lesnar made his surprise return to WWE in his first appearance since SummerSlam 2023. Lesnar attacked John Cena with an F5 to end the show.
While speaking to The West Sport, Drew McIntyre commented on his reaction to Lesnar returning…
“I just thought, ‘There’s Brock. There he is.’ It’s not like anything crazy. I just, you know, saw him come out. I had wrestled Night One of SummerSlam on the Saturday, the first two-day SummerSlam ever. Very successful—113,000 people over two days. And I’d finished my last appearance. I got on a plane. I believe I had just arrived home in the Nashville area here when I saw it, and I went, ‘Oh, there he is.’ Brock is back. And you know he’s the Beast. He causes a lot of headlines. And most importantly, he’s also the guy I beat in the main event of WrestleMania for my first WWE Championship… in five minutes.”
McIntyre also discussed what the overall rocker room buzz is like for WWE in 2025….
“Positivity. And just wondering, you know, what comes next? I think for some of the younger talent—and when I say younger, I mean newer talent, because there are some guys that are actually my age and have been around for 20 years—but for the newer talent, I think they’re kind of getting used to things being so, you know, amazing, and wrestling being so popular all across the world. For me, I’ve been around since ’07, when I was 21 years old. And I’ve watched the evolution from then—where the company was at, which I believed couldn’t possibly get any bigger.”
