Report: Brock Lesnar was being fully paid by WWE during his hiatus from the company

As seen during the 2025 WWE SummerSlam Sunday PLE, Brock Lesnar made his surprise return to WWE in his first appearance since SummerSlam 2023. Lesnar attacked John Cena with an F5 to end the show.

Lesnar was brought back to WWE despite being named in Janel Grant’s ongoing sex trafficking lawsuit against Vince McMahon. According to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com, Lesnar was still being fully paid during his hiatus from WWE even though he wasn’t being utilized. Lesnar, who has been among the highest paid wrestlers in the company, was never suspended.

Meltzer stated the following…

“If what he [Lesnar] did was going to end their relationship with him, he’d have been let go. That’s the reality. He was always going to return when legal cleared him. Legal cleared him about one month prior to the show, which was kept secret, and allowed for the return.”
