Backstage news regarding what WWE is considering for Dominik Mysterio after SummerSlam 2025

“Dirty” Dominik Mysterio is scheduled to defend his Intercontinental title against AJ Styles at the 2025 SummerSlam PLE. It appears that Dominik could be winning another championship in the near future.

During this week’s edition of WrestleVotes Radio, it was noted that WWE is “strongly considering” putting the AAA Mega Championship on Dominik. The idea of AAA’s top champion also appearing on Netflix is said to be appealing to all sides involved.

Dominik attacked El Hijo del Vikingo and Dragon Lee at the July 25th AAA show in Mexico City. Mysterio is now scheduled to compete at AAA TripleMania on August 16th against Vikingo, Lee, and El Grande Americano for the AAA Mega Championship.

It’s unclear if this creative direction will influence the outcome of Dominik vs. Styles. Dominik is a slight betting odds favorite against Styles.
